To Live Valiantly: A study on the Proverbs 31 Woman

Is now available on Amazon!

For a long time I just didn’t understand what was so great about the Proverbs 31 Woman. The poem never shows her praying, her children are only mentioned in passing, and her textile business receives a prominent place in the poem. When my first daughter was born I began to take seriously that God had inspired ALL the details of the poem, not just the first and the last verses! How could I be like this woman, and how could I raise daughters who aspire to be like her, when I didn’t understand what was so great about her?

Studying the poem was personally transforming and I began to realize that she was much more beautiful than if she looked like I had originally expected her to look. So I wrote a Bible study walk other women through the literary and cultural richness of the poem so that you can face your own world with the courage and valor that flow from a right relationship with God. This five lesson study on the Proverbs 31 Woman can be completed individually or with your small group.

I am more surprised by this excerpt: She considers a field and buys it;out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.” I think it’s admirable that an ideal woman can handle more than just household chores and children but big-time responsibilities fields. I love that bit — that a woman is strong enough for even the hardest of tasks! 🙂

  4. Carie says:

her work is profitable for her family in many ways — she provides love and nurture… she also helps provide for the family financially — she’s very industrious. I “liked Radiant ministries” and shared on fb
