It’s the end of March and we’re still waiting for the snow on the park swings to melt. Spring comes slowly this year.

“Is it warmer today?” Miriam asks.

“Come quickly, Spring!” I say.

And familiar words echo back in my mind: “Come quickly, Lord Jesus!”

The cold days seem to go on without end. But he has promised that he is not slow.

The cold has lasted far too long but I have heard the robin sing.
Melt the bitter snow away, come eternal Spring.
