IMG_3625About ten years ago I sat in Dr. Howard’s accounting class. The big accounting scandals made the headlines that year. And one day in class he said something about how no one woke up that morning and decided to commit fraud. It started years earlier with small choices that gradually led to bigger lies.

And then he said you might be tempted to think it’s no big deal to cheat on a little 10 point quiz for class. But really what you’re saying is that you’re integrity is worth so little to you that you’d give it up for a little 10 point quiz.

I think about that often.

Thanks for your encouragement, Jessica! I stopped by your blog — what a neat thing you’re doing applying the Proverbs 31 woman to your life. I love it! For a long time I had found that to be a really difficult passage and studying it in depth with Bruce Waltke’s commentary has been one of the most transforming things in my walk with God. I ended up writing a Bible study guide to pass on what God used to so powerfully transform me. Anyways, thanks again for your encouragement!
